We’d also like to wish all our clients and potential new clients an excellent Christmas and a very Happy New Year and look forwards to welcoming you all on board in 2012.

EFR Instructor

BECOME AN EFR INSTRUCTOR!

We are now able to conduct the EFR Instructor Course.  This is a prerequisite to becoming a PADI Instructor and we would typically conduct the course over two days.  We have no preset dates, so the course can be organised upon demand.  The price of the course is 275 Euros including materials (EFR Instructor kit).

This is an excellent qualification in and of itself, giving you the ability to train up your own EFR students. There is a large business potential for the course as it is an extremely well laid out, up to date, Emergency First Aid Course with options for care of both infants and children.  Both the Instructor and EFR student level courses have excellent support materials.

Please contact us for further details.

Winter closing, gift of eLearning, and Salon de la Plongee 2012

Well, before we know it it will be Christmas, I know we should be shot for saying that while still in November, but there we go..

It is worth remembering that you can buy eLearning gift vouchers if your nearest and dearest are chomping at the bit for more dive knowledge.  eLearning is available for the Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Rescue, Digital Underwater Photography and Enriched Air Nitrox courses aswell as for Dive Theory online (foundation theoretical knowledge for the Dive Master and Instructor courses) and the Scuba Review programme.  Please e-mail or call if you are interested.

We are diving until December 10th and from January 21st onwards, still offering a good discount on the PADI Dry Suit Specialty, an excellent route to comfortable year round diving.

Finally, we are exhibiting at the Salon de la Plongee 2012 (stand no. D24)(aka the Paris Dive Show), sharing a stand with our friend Joshua at Fare Miti, so why not escape up to Paris between the 13th and 16th January and come and see us!

For more information about the show see http://www.salon-de-la-plongee.com/en/home.html

Open year round, learn to dive 2012, 2012 reservations, Dive Against Debris

A quick update to let all of our clients know that we will be diving right through until late November this year, and reopening again to welcome you all from mid to late January onwards.

We are already taking reservations for the 2012 season and if you are in a position to place a deposit on a course or a holiday before the end of the year we can offer 2011 prices plus a 10% discount on the deposit.  So why not place a deposit on your learn to dive holiday and get things booked up early?

Finally we had a great Dive Against Debris for Project Aware this Sunday just gone, over twenty kilos of rubbish recovered from one of our favourite confined water training sites on the Cap d’Antibes.  For those that don’t know it this is a really beautiful stretch of coastline.

Finally please check out one of the latest additions to our YouTube channel « DiamondDiving1 » :   http://www.youtube.com/user/DiamondDiving1

Project Aware Dive Against Debris, Year round opening, Bespoke specialty packages

We are proud to be holding a Project Aware « Dive Against Debris » underwater cleanup on 13th November, further to the successful event at the beginning of the season in May.  This will be followed by an annual social event down the coast at Port Santa Lucia at The Radeau restaurant.  Great opportunity to have a few drinks, a nice meal and chat to some of our other divers and their nearest and dearest.  All welcome. Please call or e-mail to confirm your participation for the morning, afternoon, or both.

To find more about the new Project Aware and get into marine conservation social networking, which has loads of interesting features, we highly recommend creating your own My Ocean profile at www.projectaware.org.

Also to sign the shark petitions and do something positive for the Big Shark Shout Out Week:

http://www.projectaware.org/project/shark-petition

We will also be diving throughout the winter upon demand and to encourage as many of you as possible to discover the joys of Dry Suit Diving we’re offering a great deal on the PADI Dry Suit specialty for only 125 Euros until the end of March.  This includes manual, loan of DVD, confined water session, two open water dives and certification.

Don’t forget we can offer individually tailored specialty packages, choosing from a list including Peak Performance Buoyancy, Wreck, Deep, Surface Marker Buoy, Digital Underwater Photography, Aware Fish ID, Project Aware, Enriched Air Nitrox and Dry Suit. A great way to start building on your skills post Open Water and working to your Advanced and eventually Master Scuba Diver ratings at the same time.

Les Peniches d’Antheor, YouTube video competition, Parc National de Port Cros and much more…

So, where to start, where did the season go??!!  Full on of course right throughout July & August and we haven’t really stopped since.

A successful first last Sunday, when we took the RIB twenty kilometres down the coast to do the excellent wreck of Les Peniches d’Antheor.  Two Belgium river barges commandeered by the Germans in WW2 to transport munitions and sunk by a Royal Navy sub, the HMS Untiring.  So many large Barracuda, big big Grouper, huge schools of bream and Morays.  Still all the ammunition shells, unarmed fortunately 😉 Really a spectacular dive but at an accessible depth of 25 to 35 metres.

A little reminder to all our clients of the year, if you happen to read this, that the YouTube video competition in still open.  A number of good entries are on their way, and the winner will receive a prize of around 100 Euros value, adapted to their diving needs and interests.   To enter you need to give us permission to use a video of your diving with us on the Cote d’Azur on our YouTube channel, « DiamondDiving1 ».  Edits and musical overlays encouraged!

We are organising a weekend trip for local clients, October 21/22/23 and anyone else that might fancy it down to La Londe Les Maures in the Var, a beautiful little town with such legendary dive sites as La Gabiniere, Grec, Donator all accessible.  The national park at Port Cros really is spectacular.

Also we have a trip to Dahab in the Red Sea on the agenda for November 2012, details are going to be very similar to the proposed 2011 trip publicised on our Facebook page « Diamond Diving ».  Exact dates and prices will be released in mid to late January to help get you over the post Christmas blues!

Congratulations to all our recently certified divers, particularly those who have expanded and deepened your dive skills via the range of PADI Specialty courses we offer.  Also a big thumbs up to all our brave non swimming Indian friends who really appreciated their try dives, we look forwards to welcoming more of you on board very very soon!

Voila for the moment, all that remains to be said is October 8th, come on England 😉

Superb early season diving….

Our first Project Aware clean up of the year was a great success helping keep the beautiful confined water training site we use on the Cap d’Antibes rubbish free.
